Returning to Queensbury - 2009-1

The picture at right is Home! Happy to be returning.

After a long trip to Hong Kong, China (of course, all of you know that Hong Kong is part
of China), Cambodia and a short stopover in LA, we are on our way back home. We were supposed to go to India, but fortunately for us it didn't work out, since about the time we were planning to be in India, a number of terrorist bombings occurred in and around Mumbai.

It has been a great trip, but as I recently told my son, Robby, I feel a little like Bobby Bare in his song, "Detroit City": "I wanna go home"! Yes, even to snowy, freezing Queensbury.

Many of you have been subjected to my daily "Letters" written from Hong Kong and I hope that by now you are not too tired of what I have to say about the places we visit.

The picture at the top is the Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is an amazing place and it just looks completely out of place with the poverty all around. I will post more on Cambodia with more emphasis on the amazing Khmer Temples constructed between 900-1300AD; some pretty amazing engineering along with some beautiful art.

This is a work-in-process and, in time, I might just get pretty good at this blogging!

  2. Hi Grandpa Blogger! I look forward to your blogs, just don't turn into a Blogojovich-Ha. I know, you never could! It has been fun reading your letters and enjoying your photographs from Hong Kong and elsewhere. This experience will be a nice extension of that trip. More than your blogs, however, I'm looking forward to having you and your bride back home. Tom
