New York City Trip - May 2009

Peggy called a couple of weeks ago and said she had to be in NYC for a Stationery Convention Show and wanted to know if we would like to meet her there. Of course we are always looking for an excuse to go to NYC.

We do love the City; but don’t want to live there! Although we did live there for a month in the early ’90’s when Peggy worked one summer as an intern for a graphic design company.

This trip we went to NYC Museum; our first visit there. It was a very interesting especially the early history of New Amsterdam. They also had an exhibition on Henry Hudson trips in and around the Hudson River looking for a shortcut to the Far East. He didn’t find one but he is credited with discovering the Hudson River, although certainly not the first to see the Hudson River.

Besides eating in some very good food at some very expensive restaurants, Jenny and I walked from NYC Museum at 103rd street and Fifth Avenue back to our hotel on 7th Avenue at 53rd Street. The next day we walked all around SOHO, China Town, Little Italy and across the Brooklyn Bridged. Yeah, I was hurting at the end of the day.

  1. Oh, too bad. Are you OK, Uncle Bobby ? Hope nothing seriously had happened. Take care and love both you & Aunt Jenny so much.

  2. Thanks for Aunt Jenny's clarification. I bet I was so careless and jumped to the conclusion without reading through between lines. I learnt from the mistakes. If Uncle Bobby got hurt(touchwood), it should be 'I was hurt'.
    Forgive me.
